Use this request to cancel an order before it has been shipped so the entire amount is refunded to the customer

## Use case

The customer contacts you, regrets the order and wants the money to be refunded or any invoices to be voided.

Once the order is canceled:

- Every uncaptured item on it gets the item status `Canceled`. See
  [Order lifecycle](/docs/manage/concepts/order-lifecycle) for what that means.
- The order value is refunded to the customer if the order was paid with Swish, card, Trustly or another direct payment method like Vipps or Mobile Pay.

:::info The money takes a few hours to a few days to arrive
How long depends on the payment method and on the customer's bank.
