Creating a Pay Link
Create a Pay Link in four steps: enter the articles, review the details, send the link, and wait for the customer to pay.
Before you startβ
- You need the Paylink Management permission.
- Your stores must be set up for Pay Link. See the Pay Link overview.
- Select Pay Link in the top menu. The list shows every Pay Link your permissions give you access to.
Enter the articlesβ
- Select Create new and then Pay Link.
- Choose the currency.
- Enter the articles. The customer sees them in the checkout.
- Select Next.
Review the Pay Link detailsβ
- Choose the store the purchase should be registered on.
- Optionally, enter an order number so you can find the order later.
- Choose the delivery method, remote or in-store.
- Select Create.
The delivery method you choose overrides the store's default activation behaviour for this checkout.
Send the Pay Link to the customerβ
When the Pay Link is created, a dialog offers two ways to share it. Send it as a text message, or copy the link and send it by email or another channel.
To send a text message:
- Enter the customer's mobile phone number in the Send Pay Link dialog.
- Select Send.
The customer completes the purchaseβ
The customer opens the link in a browser on any device and pays. An order is created, and a link to it appears on the Pay Link details page.
The Pay Link page does not update on its own. Select Refresh Pay Link to see the new state and the link to the order.
Delivery methodsβ
Remote deliveryβ
Use this for distance sales, for example over the phone or by email. Activate the order when you ship the goods.
In-store deliveryβ
Use this when the customer takes the goods right away, for example in your physical store. The order is activated when the customer completes the purchase.
Create a Pay Link from a bookmarkβ
You can prefill fields by adding query parameters to the Pay Link URL. Save the URL as a browser bookmark for configurations you use often, or share it with colleagues.
https://merchanthub.walleypay.com/new-paylink?articleNumber=123&description=Item1&country=SE&deliveryMethod=Remote&lock=deliveryMethod
This example prefills the article number, description, country code, and delivery method, and locks the delivery method so it cannot be changed by mistake.
Lock a fieldβ
Add lock=FIELD_NAME to stop a field from being changed. Repeat it to lock several fields:
&lock=deliveryMethod&lock=country
Fields you can prefill and lockβ
| Field | Description |
|---|---|
articleNumber | The article or SKU number. |
description | The article name shown to the customer in the checkout. |
unitPrice | The price per unit in the selected currency, for example 99.00. |
